We’ve officially made it into the BRRRR month! Our office is gearing up for the holidays by decking the space out in blue and white. Students are shifting into winter mode—academics, sports, and even snow-ready tires for some of their cars. The whole school is getting prepped for our 12 Days of Christmas. See the details below if you too would like to join in the fun!

USD 466 is kicking off the holiday season with staff and students on December 4th as we begin the 12 Days of Christmas! These fun, optional events will take place across the district. Here’s the schedule to help you keep track of all the what/when/where details:

The Board of Education met on 11/10/2025 at 7:00 PM in the evening for the November Meeting. The meeting began with reports from the buildings: Aaron Dirks, High School Principal, stated that the High School FACS Class has received enough money in grants to purchase new cookware sets for each station in the classroom. Dr. Shawn Roberts, Elementary School Principal, reported that SCORE will be adding the E-Sports Program for 3rd to 5th graders. The E-Sports program has a curriculum that addresses topics that align with their high school computer applications course, and they plan to start with a non-competitive program for our students. Jana Irvin informed the board of the achievements of our student athletes this past season. She gave the list of students who have earned a GWAC Honor for Fall 2025. - Please see below for details -

Mr. Rumford stated that the Calendar Committee will begin meeting this December to start the process of scheduling out the 2026-2027 school year. Lakin Dreiling was announced to be the new member of the USD 466 Scott County Schools Board of Education. He will take the seat of off coming Board Member, Scott Noll, in January 2026. Finally, the Board approved the closure of a bank account, known as Bond & Interest II (2).

Jingle Stop: Even Santa stops to give his favorite mascot a gift this time of year! This duo has been an office staple for many years, saying "Hello" to lots of little beavers on their way to a day of Learn and Play!
